Accountancy is the highest-scoring subject in commerce if you treat it as a practice subject, not a reading subject. Here is the strategy our toppers follow.

Master the format first

Most marks lost in accountancy are presentation marks — wrong format, missing working notes, or untidy ledgers. Lock the format of every account before you chase difficult numericals.

Prioritise high-weightage chapters

Company Accounts (shares and debentures), Partnership (admission, retirement, dissolution), Financial Statements and Cash Flow carry the bulk of the marks. Build these to mastery before polishing smaller chapters.

Working notes win marks

Always show working notes clearly. Examiners award step marks even when the final figure slips. Never erase your rough — convert it into neat working notes.

Practise previous years and most-repeated sums

Patterns repeat. Solving the last 5–7 years of board papers and the most-repeated numericals trains both speed and accuracy.

Time and accuracy under mock conditions

Sit full-length mock boards on a timer. Accountancy rewards the student who is fast and clean under pressure — and that only comes from repetition.

This is exactly the system we run in our Class 12 batch and crash course at PAC, Hisar.
